The Office & Disability Services Assistant is responsible for greeting and serving guests who come to Center for Student Success to receive services. (S)he also works with the Director of Disability Services to serve the needs of students with disabilities. Approximately 75% of his/her time is spent in relation to university programs housed in Center for Student Success. Approximately 25% of his/her time is spent in relation to the federally-funded TRIO SSS Program which is also housed in Center for Student Success. The person in this position must be an evangelical Christian committed to the Lordship of Christ—this means having a Biblical worldview and involves transformation in every area of one’s lifestyle. (S)he needs to have strong character formed by the regular practice of Christian spiritual disciplines. The Office & Disability Services Assistant should have a developed understanding for what God can do in the student body through the efforts of Center for Student Success.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports the Dean of the Center for Student Success who reports to the Vice President for Student Development
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain student disability files as instructed by the Director of Accessibility and Accommodations.
- Coordinate correspondence to faculty regarding academic adjustments, accommodations, and other services for students with disabilities.
- Administer alternative testing for students receiving accommodations.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the CLEP and MAT registration and inventory process (includes collection and disbursement of funds).
- Assist in administration of CLEP and MAT exams and other assessment tests.
- Deposit monies for testing services.
- In collaboration with the Office Manager, manage student records and train student workers on data management software systems.
- Manage webpages information and update publications for service
- Maintain and update an accurate inventory of all assets housed in Center for Student Success.
- Assist in maintaining an accurate record of all supplies in Center for Student Success and make purchases as needed.
- Greet and assist students with completing paperwork and appointments for all services.
- Work closely with the Office Manager and the student employees to coordinate efforts at reception desk.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and perform office tasks as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Center for Student Success.
- Mid-August to Mid-May, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Flexible as arranged when classes are not in session.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
- College course work preferred, high school Diploma or GED required.
Experience
- Prior experience in clerical or administrative assistant work preferred.
- Prior work in College or University Support Office preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Required Skills
- Commitment to serving individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Willingness to learn and use other documentation storage and assistive technology software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in- and outside the office environment.
- Ability to organize and operate in a multitask environment.
- Ability to interact with students of all ages.
- Ability to clearly communicate with others.
