GENERAL FUNCTIONS
The Sr. Process Engineer (Paint) is required to have adequate knowledge and experience to provide engineering support for the processes and equipment in the paint operations for meeting customer requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide lead role in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria
- Develop solutions while working closely on processes to qualify/sustain tools, troubleshoot issues and enhance production operations
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise and knowledge of process variables related to paint operations
- Implement Lean principles to improve/optimize/continuously improve KPIs for the manufacturing/business processes
- Partner with the Product & Production teams to implement New products
- Accountable for contributing ideas/knowledge towards the successful completion of engineering tasks and preparation of engineering deliverables
- Team player and responsible for working across functional groups to qualify new processes/ materials under a compressed schedule
- Liaison between the Painting department and other internal engineering disciplines (design, development, planning, automation, maintenance, tooling etc.) to ensure smooth transition of product and process changes in production
- Create process routings, tool and fixture designs and drawings
- Lead & Manage multiple projects in a dynamic fast paced environment
- Provide training and supervision for the Process Technicians and PM activities in the group
- Develop plans for optimizing painting processes and equipment for cost reduction and quality improvement
- Generate process sheets and process books to document processes.
- Work safely and maintain a safe, organized and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related Engineering field
- 5+ years of experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently on broad range of assignments
- Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma Problem solving Methodology.
- Demonstrated ability to implement processes that have delivered measurable benefits on Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery
- Ability to work with teams undertaking Continuous Improvement activities
- Ability to use systematic approach for Root Cause Analysis and demonstrated knowledge of systems/processes to ensure data driven decisions
- Working knowledge of CAD programs/tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Bilingual – English / Spanish
- Project Management/Six Sigma/ LEAN Manufacturing certification
- Familiarity with Minitab Software to perform/analyze design of experiments
