About the Role:
As a Hiring Support Specialist, you’ll be responsible for supporting students in successfully navigating the selection and hiring processes for the NYU Teacher Residency. The goal of the Hiring Support Specialist is to provide the best service possible to prospective students and ensure that they are able to be as successful as possible in securing positions with district and charter partners across the country.
As our Hiring Support Specialist, you will be responsible for:
Strategy
- Develop systems and structures to identify who needs hiring support and what support is needed for candidates to be successful in the partner selection and hiring process.
- Manage key KPIs to assess impact of services provided to students during the middle of the funnel
Candidate Support / Engagement
- Support candidates to uplevel their preparation for interviews with NYU TR’s 25+ district and charter hiring managers
- Understand candidate motivations for what partners they are considering and why and share across with NYU TR cross - functional team
- Hold 1:1 conversations via Zoom and phone and small group conversations with candidates to support their preparation for interview events
- Lead virtual and in-person events to support candidate engagement throughout the hiring and selection process (some evening and weekend hours may be required)
Cross-Functional Team Collaboration
- Consult with marketing, enrollment and program operations team on the materials needed to support candidates in hiring process
- Collaborate with program operations team and NYU faculty to design and host middle of the funnel events to support success in the interview and hiring process with NYU TR partners, particularly as it relates to an anti-racist stance on education and teacher preparation
- Collaborate with Partnerships Manager to identify trends in feedback from NYU TR partners about their experiences interviewing NYU TR candidates and make recommendations for process improvements
Operations
- Support and collaborate with Admissions and Selections Manager for NYU Steinhardt to ensure that the operations are in place for the interviews with NYU TR district and charter partners
You will also hold the following Enrollment Advisor responsibilities:
- Conduct student recruitment for the NYU Teacher Residency through consistent outreach via phone, text and email
- Qualify new inquiries and applications for various graduate degree programs through meaningful conversations and guide prospects through the student lifecycle
- Assist students through admissions processes
- Be the subject matter expert on NYU Teacher Residency including curriculum, structure, notable faculty, program value and industry knowledge or trends
You have:
- A proven track record of achieving measurable results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- 1+ years of phone-based experience in a metrics-driven environment
- PreK-12 classroom teaching experience preferred
- Experience facilitating sessions around DEI and anti-racism
- Self direction and time management skills, you can work independently and still demonstrate success!
- A positive attitude coupled with grit, drive and ambition
- Comfortability with a certain level of ambiguity and excitement to join a start-up that’s growing and evolving
- Academic success - a Bachelor's degree
