Job Description
The PositionNutrition/Out & About) provides assistance with the day-to-day operations of the Senior Nutrition Program and the Out & About transportation programs for the Encinitas Community and Senior Center.
This is a part-time/temporary/reserve non-benefited position. Incumbents work less than 999 hours a year.

Examples of Important & Essential Duties (included but not limited to)
Essential Duties of the Recreation Coordinator: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives and priorities for specialized recreational/nutrition programs.- Develops reports concerning program effectiveness and identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures by determining resource needs and/or process revisions.
- May lead in the training and supervision of subordinate recreation staff, volunteers, and independent contractors and provides input on the performance.
- Coordinates program related fundraising activities, solicits donations and sponsorships.
- Prepares program event and facility promotional materials such as menus, newsletters, calendars, fliers, and brochures.
- Provides input on the budget and other administrative matters.
- Determines equipment and supply requirements for lunch program activities and obtains and stocks supplies as required.
- Provides staff assistance to the Recreation Services Supervisor(s); participates on a variety of committees.
- Prepares and presents staff reports, grant reports and correspondence as appropriate and necessary.
- Coordinates recreation services with those of other divisions and outside agencies and organizations.
- Maintains program files, forms, documents and records such as client in-take forms and program attendance.
- Manage kitchen and dining room operations.
- Manage transportation reservations and schedules for senior citizens to and from the lunch program.
- Staff liaison to the Nutrition Site Council and work with community groups and organizations.
- Coordinate bingo, theme parties, and special celebrations.
- Maintain proper health standards, food temperatures and sanitation.
- Assist with menu preparation including portion sizes and meal components.
- Conduct in-service trainings, nutrition educations, and administer food handler cards.
- Maintain program specific databases.

- Eliciting community and organizational support for the nutrition program.

- Operating a vehicle and observing legal driving practices.

- Plan, organize and coordinate multiple assignments, responsibilities and tasks.
Licensing Requirements, Experience, Education:
Valid California Driver's License.- Food Manager's Certification or ability to obtain one.
- CPR, First Aid and AED Training for Adults to ability to obtain within 60 days.
- Any combination equivalent to experience and education that provides the required knowledge and abilities to operate this program such as two years experience in food service operations and nutrition program planning.
