The Nutrition Assistant provides assistance with the Senior Nutrition program at the Encinitas Community/Senior Center. The primary responsibilities include taking meal reservations, coordinating the check-in list, cleaning dishes and work cooperatively with the nutrition program volunteers to serve 40 plus seniors a day.
Incumbents in this position are scheduled to work 8:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday.
This is a part-time/temporary/reserve non-benefited position. Incumbents work less than 999 hours a year.
Examples of Important & Essential Duties (included but not limited to)
Essential Duties of the Recreation Assistant:(These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary)
- Provides general assistance to the public
- Assist in recreational programs, activities, and events for variety of ages at different facilities
- Conduct, organize, teach and participate in group recreation activities
- Organize group games and tournaments
- Chaperone or assist chaperone at dances, camps, parties and on field trips and outings
- Prepare, maintain and/or clean up Parks and Recreation facilities and equipment for activities or services
- Issue, collect and organize recreation equipment and supplies for activities and services
- Perform a variety of general and routine administrative tasks in support of recreation programs including data entry registration using software related to assigned functions and modern office equipment
- Maintain records, forms and documentation on assigned activities or services;
- Prepare ball fields for game play
- May referee, umpire or keep score for organized games and sport activities;
- Develop flyers, correspondence, or reports for group recreation activities or services
- Direct the program use and care of assigned facilities and equipment
- Enforce established rules, policies and procedures at City's Community Center, park facilities and events
Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties.
Licensing Requirements:
- Some positions may require a CPR, AED or Food Managers Certification.
- Some positions require a valid California Driver's License.
- If under 16 years of age applicants must provide a work permit or be currently enrolled in high school.
