Become a trained Certified Nursing Assistant with the #1 hospital in Wisconsin – in six weeks!
We are seeking individuals for the UW Health Nursing Assistant Apprenticeship Program . The program begins October 11th, 2021.
- The program is designed for current UW Health employees, as well as external applicants.
- Current employees will receive training on paid work time.
- External applicants will receive training on paid time.
- Students will participate in direct patient care tasks, processes, and procedures to assist members of a patient care team in providing a broad range of healthcare services to our patients as Nursing Assistant in a hospital setting.

Education :
Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent.
Licenses and Certifications :
Minimum – CPR/BLS certification that may be obtained during the apprenticeship.

Physical Requirements :
Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

W ork Schedule :
The hours are Monday through Friday, from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, for in-person sessions and the hybrid program is two days per week in-person. The knowledge portion is online. Part of the time will be spent in class at the Whitney Way location and at University Hospital for clinical.
