Status : Full Time Regular Shift: DAY SHIFT Department: Home Care

Position SummarySummary:
Provide direct supervision and clinical oversight of home care visiting staff. Responsible for case assignments, follow-up with inter-disciplinary staff, communication with patients, physicians, and referral sources. Serves as a clinical resource and educator for field nurse. The Nurse Supervisor is authorized to act in the absence of the Director of Patient Services and / or Assistant Director. QualificationsResponsibilities:
Education Required

  • Must complete in-house orientation program

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing; A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred (with two years home care experience).



Experience And Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Speaks, reads and writes English

  • Four (4) years experience in home care; six credit hours, or the equivalent or education / training in public health / nursing and principles of management. Prior supervisory experience preferred.

  • Evidence of leadership qualities and effective communication skills.

  • Ability to relate and work well with others within each level of authority and responsibility.

  • Ability to interpret and evaluate community health programs as they affect home care.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs as appropriate to their age.

  • Knowledge of growth and development.

  • Knowledge of the range of treatment needed by patients as appropriate to their age.

  • Computer proficiency



License/Certifications

  • Current license/registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.

  • Current BLS Certification.
