Position Summary
Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing, diagnosis, implementation and evaluation in accordance with the nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Park Nicollet Health Services policy. Accountability for the quality of care delivered, recognizing the limits of knowledge and experience; addressing situations beyond the nurse’s competency; and performing to the level of education, knowledge, and skill ordinarily expected of an individual who has completed an approved professional nursing education program.
Supports multiple areas within a clinic setting with strong interpersonal skill and flexibility while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights. Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment of care and advocates for the best interests of individual patients. Resolves concerns or complaints regarding patient care or service.
Education/Experience:
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
- Associate degree or diploma required, Bachelor preferred
- 1 year of prior experience in nursing preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses:
- Maintain a current state certified registered nurse’s licensure
- BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development necessary to provide appropriate care to the patient population served
- Possesses the qualities of strong critical thinking skills and ability to multi task
Additional Information
The primary function and location of this position is to assist with endoscopy procedures at Park Nicollet Maple Grove Surgery Center. Can be asked to assist at Burnsville and Saint Louis Park campuses. Primary duties include; IV insertion, administering moderate sedation, monitoring patients, assisting providers during the procedure, and Pre-post care of patients. Other duties can include; chart review for endoscopy procedures, clinic work which can be phone triage, in and outgoing calls, and standard rooming of patients and various other tasks.
