The UCCS Health Circle Primary Care Clinic in the Lane Center for Academic Health Sciences is looking for a part-time PRN Family Nurse Practitioner (NP) to work in the nurse-managed clinic, providing healthcare services to UCCS employees and patients with participating health insurance. The NP evaluates, assesses, makes diagnoses, prescribes, and educates patients regarding their particular illness or chronic disease.

Job Duties:

  • The NP is responsible for providing primary health care to patients in the UCCS Health Circle Primary Care Clinic, directed by the NP scope of practice, clinic policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluates and treats acute and chronic problems for hte pediatric to the geratric population.
  • Works with the Medical Assistants to provide care to patients.
  • Collaborates and communicates with other health care providers to ensure optimal patient care.
  • The NP assists the Office Manager and the Clinical Lead NP with other duties as assigned.
  • Participates in the after-hours call on a rotating basis.
  • Completes patient histories, physical examinations, and thorough assessments on all patients with appropriate documentation reflected in the medical record.
  • Discusses and promotes mind, body, and spirit wellness concepts for all patients.
  • Triages walk-in urgent health care situations and coordinates with emergency rooms if deemed necessary.
  • Refers patients requiring care beyond the scope of the NP's practice to other appropriate providers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Competencies:

  • Extensive clinical knowledge to provide primary care services to various chronic nad acute patients without consulting a physician or specialist.
  • Able to differentiate patient care situations that require acute and non-acute action and respond accordingly.
  • Able to communicate effectively with patients, clinic students, staff, outside specialists, and agencies to ensure specific patient needs are met.
  • Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with the clinic staff, students, and community providers to meet the patients' needs being served by the clinic.
  • Provide care to individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Have a working knowledge of appropriate billing/coding and HIPAA compliance issues.
  • Able to participates in after-hours call.

Work Location: On-Site

Remote work will be available for emergency events. This will be offered based on the emergency and allowance will come from leadership and the guidelines provided at the time of the emergency.

This position has been determined to be eligible for overtime (non-exempt) under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Salary Range: Generally starting at $40.31 - $52.01 per hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing with specialty certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner by a national certification agency.
  • Current unencumbered Colorado RN licensure and placement on the Advanced Practice Nurse Registry with full prescriptive authority.
  • Current DEA license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Three years of experience in an outpatient clinical setting as an NP.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of experience in an outpatient clinical setting as an NP.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand. Employee is occasionally required to sit for longer periods of time. Tasks may involve room and providing care for patients, looking at a computer screen, hearing within normal range. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
