Position Summary:
The Oncology Nurse Coordinator functions independently to coordinate care of oncological patients. Responsible for planning, education and support of oncology patient and family. Assures that the continuum of care process is complete, including intra-interdepartmental process to include: pre-admit, hospitalization, discharge, follow up in the OP. Maintains program data for analysis and RFPs. Works with Oncology Director and Oncology Medical Director / team for the development and growth of the program. Provides nursing services as needed. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Current CA RN license
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum 6 months experience working as a RN in an Oncology setting
- Demonstrated practice with and knowledge of chemotherapy agents
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
- Advanced knowledge of leukemia disease state and treatment
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a clinical or inpatient setting providing RN care to leukemia patients
- Basic Life Support certification required
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications: - Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
- Demonstrated knowledge of immunosuppressive therapies and care of the post-transplant patient
- Oncology / BMT patient population knowledge
- Oncology Nurse Certification
- Knowledge of complications associated with hematological oncology conditions
