Position Summary

Our nurses are empowered to provide exceptional nursing care for our residents; to provide guidance to QMAs, CNAs, and students; to monitor supply usage; to initiate emergency procedures related to patients, families, staff, and institution; and to adhere to all criteria set forth by ISDH, CMS, and BHI Senior Living. All team members contribute to goals as they work in harmony with the mission of our community.

Scope of Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Patient observation and assessment (vital signs, neurological signs, skin, bowel, etc.).
  • Operation/use of frequently used patient care/safety equipment.
  • Frequently performed patient care procedures.
  • Medication administration.
  • Overseeing direct and indirect care as established by the written plan of care and physician order.
  • Following Standard Precautions, including transmission based isolation precaution as appropriate and as directed.
  • Adhere to all community policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Assignment

  • Must be able to work a 12-hour shift.
  • Nurses will be flexible and able to work as assigned to long-term care, skilled rehab, assisted living, or memory support units.

. Requirements:

Educational Requirements and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university preferred; one to two years related experience and/or education; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license in good standing with state.
