Job Description
The Nurse Assistant knows and understands the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of Patient Services. Under supervision of the professional nurse, the Nursing Assistant provides basic nursing care to assigned patients.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- High school graduate or equivalent; ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology. Successful completion of a certified patient care/clinical associate/certified nursing assistant or equivalent course. Successful completion of courses in EKG and Phlebotomy (only for Critical Care and ED). BLS certification required bi-annually.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2-4 years experience in health-care and nursing services experience strongly preferred. Will train on the job if needed.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work with detailed, confidential material, computer experience required.
