Job Description

Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals as well as other medications to patients and performs the diagnostic study per physician orders.


Minimum Education
Associate’s degree in Radiology is required, Bachelor's is preferred. Graduate of an accredited program of nuclear medicine and/or radiologic technology


Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be
able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Prefer 2 years experience in Nuclear Medicine. It is preferred that all nuclear medicine technologists have a degree from an accredited college with appropriate certifications and/or registries and prior experience working in either the hospital environment and/or the outpatient setting. All technologists should have the knowledge to prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilize a variety of equipment and follow prescribed procedures. Technologists must be able to administer therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of physicians following radiation safety techniques when disposing or transporting radioactive materials.

Certifications & Licenses
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Must meet all licensure and certification requirements for the State of Tennessee. ARRT(N) or CNMTB, or ARRT(R) with 5 years of working experience in a Nuclear Medicine Department.
