NST Nursing Student - Emergency Department

Mercy Medical Center, a Magnet-designated facility, offers a unique opportunity to qualified nursing students in our Student Nurse Technician role (SNT). This program is designed to enhance the student's learning experiences gained in the academic setting through clinical patient care activities. The SNT participates as a member of the nursing team in the delivery of quality patient care. Under supervision of the RN, the SNT will perform selected delegated patient care procedures, observe the patient's condition and report and record the information, and assist the health care team with specific treatments and other direct care activities.

Qualifications include:

• Enrollment in an accredited Bachelor's degree in Nursing program, with completion of at least two (2) semesters of clinical study and be within at least one (1) year of graduation; student in good standing;
• Nursing Assistant certification through the Maryland Board of Nursing
• CPR for the Health Care Provider certification.
