You will:
    Validate, review, and analyze daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial data for the Equity Derivatives trading desks, including point-of-time and historical trending of Revenues, Balance Sheet, Capital, and Funding Ensure accuracy of the books & records via the monthly close process, and provide assistance with quarterly financial statement preparation and commentary Focus on risk mitigation and drive forward the team's control agenda by reviewing existing processes and enforcing change toward efficiency and best practices Partner with the Business Units, IT, Operations, and other areas of Finance, to improve the quality of Funding analyses the team performs Serve as a liaison with various groups and represent the team in discussions of relevant accounting and financial information used for disclosures or for other purposes Participate in firm, division and/or business specific projects, with collaboration across the firm, aimed at systems migration, processes improvement, and industry/regulatory changes; communicate with stakeholders, prepare documentation, and coordinate testing
Job Summary: The Equity Derivatives Product Control team provides coverage and support to the Equity Derivatives businesses, acting as guardians by ensuring that books, records, and balances are materially accurate with regards to classifications, value and booking of transactions. The team is also involved in reporting and analysis, profitability/performance metrics, and maximizing efficiency of capital and financial resources. This role has significant senior level exposure, and the successful candidate will have the ability to grow into an officer at the firm.
Team Profile: The Equity Derivatives Product Control team sits within the Institutional Securities Group Finance organization in Institutional Equities Division Product Control. The Equity Derivatives team consists of 4 employees in New York led by an Executive Director and is further supported by 16 employees in our Baltimore office.
Department Profile: The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum 5+ years Accounting/Financial service experience Bachelor’s degree, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher Strong mathematical skills and proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel Ability to assimilate various Front-End/Finance IT systems Exposure to financial instruments, equity and derivatives preferred Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, in order to work effectively within the Product Control group, as well as with key clients across the firm, including the Front Office, Market Risk, IT, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Accounting Policy, Operation and other Finance departments Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across all levels Self-motivated and adaptable team player, able to prioritize amongst multiple competing initiatives Forward thinking, proactive approach, commercial mindset, and possess the ability to work independently Outstanding attention to detail and follow up, excellent organizational and analytical skills VBA, Tableau, or other digital/data visualization tools is desired, but not required Project Management experience is a plus, but not required
