REGISTERED NURSE - Novice Nurse Residency Program
About the Program:
Boca Raton Regional Hospital's new graduate registered nurse training course is a 12 week program of classroom teaching and supervised clinical practice. For the first 8 weeks, newly licensed RN's will be in the classroom one day per week, and will work two 12-hour clinical shifts per week on their unit with their coach. They will also do a 3-4 hour observation one day per week in other patient care areas such as Emergency Room and Cath Lab. The 8 weeks of classroom instruction will include system-oriented lectures and simulation practice, as well as a 15 hour basic EKG class. During the last 4 weeks of the program, they will work three 12-hour shifts per week with their coach. Each Novice Nurse will have a specially trained and selected Nurse Mentor as a part of their support system for their first year as an RN at BRRH. Newly licensed RN's who are hired into this program will be required to sign a two year employment contract with Boca Raton Regional Hospital.

Official or unofficial copy of transcripts (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required to be considered)
Minimum Qualifications:
Only candidates who have graduated from an accredited nursing program will be considered.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Required, BSN Preferred.
Candidates may apply prior to NCLEX testing. Florida RN license will be required prior to the program start date.
2-3 years of previous work experience in a healthcare or customer services setting(hospitality, restaurant, sales, etc.) is strongly preferred
BLS certification by the American Heart Association required
