Our Quality Team is excited to announce an opening for a NDI Quality Engineer III/ NDI level III at our Poway Campus!

DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
  • Contributes in the implementation and management of the nondestructive inspection program. Provides technical input on specifications and inspection practices.
  • Develops inspection procedures and processes to best utilize equipment.
  • Provides guidance on codes and standards and ensures compliance to customer requirements. Inspects the performance of equipment and processes and initiates corrective actions to ensure integrity of the inspection process.
  • Approves procedures and technique sheets.
  • Assists in the certification of inspectors by preparing and administering certification exams.
  • Prepares, reviews and approves specifications, procedures and technique sheets. Prepares reports and presentations.
  • Performs NDT technique and procedure development.
  • Provides necessary training and guidance to inspectors.
  • Audits internal and third party NDI programs for compliance with requirements.
  • Provides certification exams to inspectors.
  • Coordinates the procurement of equipment, consumable materials, and services as necessary to maintain uninterrupted inspection capabilities.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a BS or MS in science, technology, engineering or math and documented previous level 3 certification in multiple methods. May substitute equivalent experience as a certified Level 3 inspector in multiple methods in lieu of education.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of engineering, manufacturing, and material science concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledgeable in all methods of NDI methods used at the company.
  • Capable of training and mentoring lower level NDI engineers.
  • Able to effectively articulate technical concepts in a way that builds understanding.
  • Possess a detailed understanding of Wet layup and Prepreg composite materials and fabrication methods.
  • Possess a broad knowledge of casting, forging, and welding processes.
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications and perform mathematical computations.
  • Must possess strong computer skill for effective communication and recordkeeping.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and guard sensitive information.
