Job Description
Overview: The MS Center Nurse Manager will manage all clinical activities of the Multiple Sclerosis Center. Functions as a resource to the MS population and staff.Responsibilities:

- Provides leadership and oversight of the Multiple Sclerosis Wellness program.
- Effectively evaluates the patient's performance in areas of daily living, recreation, education and social activities.
- Coordinates care and utilizes resources available for the benefit of the patient.
- Monitors patients within the system to meet patient demand.
- Provides education to the patient/family regarding the disease processes and planned treatment/intervention. Provides instruction in the areas of health promotion, activity and medication as appropriate.
- Coordinates education for in-house professionals and acts as resource for staff.
- Assists Clinical Director in budget process and effective use of resources.
- Coordinates the department's education/in-service schedule.
- Acts as a liaison to the MS Society.
- Monitors the department's inventory of supplies and orders supplies when needed.
- Documents results of diagnostic evaluations, care plan and patient progress in medical record.
- Coordinates the implementation of a physician EMR and its integration into CentraState.
- Develops and maintains “Multiple Sclerosis Registry” this registry will include both clinical indicators and functional outcomes. The goal of this is to create a comprehensive registry of our patient population for research and joint venture opportunities.
- Manages day to day scheduling of personal including front desk, social work, nursing and additional staff.
- Assumes responsibility for budget compliance and performance.
- Assumes responsibility for facility charges from center including infusion.
- Integration of Nurse Practitioner into Multiple Sclerosis Center.
- Coordinates with Nurse Researcher clinical trials, grants and business opportunities that would support growth of the center.
- Maintains adequate staffing level and anticipates future needs of program.
- Develops and monitors employee development program for each employee.
- Is responsible for 1 performance indicator and reports on quarterly basis.
- Assumes performance responsibility for program and employees.
- Maintains productivity within guidelines set by department.
- Coordinates professional and administrative staff providing optimal delivery of care.
- In conjunction with management and existing resources develop growth strategy for the center focusing on Community Engagement, Outreach, Financial Stability and Advance Clinical Certification.
- Ensures proper staffing for Multiple Sclerosis Center and Infusion Component.
- Responsible for budget, supplies and quarterly reports on Performance Improvement activities.
- Working with office supervisor, develops strategies to adjust to changes in work flow and reimbursement.
- Works in conjunction with other departments including finance to expedite deliver and reimbursement of infusible drugs and testing that require authorization.
- Effectively communicate with all providers.
- Evaluate and assess patients during scheduled office visits.
- Answer patient calls/questions including but not limited to symptom management, medication management, disability.
- Refill medications.
- Educate patients on disease modifying medications.
- Complete patient related paperwork as needed.
- Able to be flexible with schedule.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Required
- Master’s Degree in Nursing Preferred
Work Experience:
- 5 Years of Related Experience Required
Licenses and Certifications:
- RN License / New Jersey Required
- BLS Required
- ACLS Preferred

- Strong leadership capabilities in both the clinical and business environment required.
- Familiarity with hospital environment.
