Job Title: Motor Grader Operator
Location: 2251 Silver Creek Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76108
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Type and Schedule: Full-Time
50-60 hours per week
M-F: 7:00am - 5:00pm
Saturday: 7:00am-1:00pm as needed
Position Overview: The Motor Grader Operator will be responsible for grade excavation and embankment and lay base and other materials. The Motor Grader Operator may blade haul roads as well as othergeneral work. In addition to the rough work responsibilities, the Motor Grader Operator will also perform finish grade work to blue tops or other pad sites. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.
Position Responsibilities:
- Inspect equipment daily for defective parts and check fluid levels before starting. Notify supervisor of defects, malfunctions, or any needed repairs.
- Operate grader to spread and level dirt, gravel, and rock to construct, maintain, and repair roadways on Company property.
- Perform rough cutting, finishing, spread and process road base.
- Display a "can do" attitude
- Operate the grader and other equipment in a safe manner, complying with all Company, OSHA or other regulating agency's safety rules.
- Attention to deadlines and finishes assigned tasks on time with high standards of quality.
- Assist other unit areas with equipment operation as needed.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of experience operating a Motor Grader with and without a GPS or Laser Grade Control System.
- Must comply with background check and Drug-free Workplace Policy
- Knowledge in construction practices.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, operating and /or safety manuals, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to physically lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended time periods
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers / peers in job duties.
- Must be dependable and coachable
- Must be able to perform all job duties as outlined, and other duties as assigned
- Experience completing routine machine maintenance is preferred.
- Experience with road maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to operate multiple heavy machines is a plus.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
- CDL is preferred, but not required.
