Overview: Prime Choice Funding, Inc., a national wholesale mortgage company headquartered in Southern California, has a full-time opportunity for a Mortgage QC Auditor in the Orange County, CA area.

  • Audits loan applications prior to funding to meet goals with as little delay to the operations side as possible.
  • Audits closed loans to meet agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Completes all audits within Agency timeframes.
  • Performs audits of loans under a repurchase demand.
  • Performs audits of loans selected for examination by a regulator. Assists the Director of QC with other elements of the examination, as needed.
  • Performs audits of loans as needed as per risk elements.
  • All audits will include a review of the credit application and compliance elements, such as disclosures, (TRID, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, and HMDA.), points and fees, watch lists, etc.
  • Responds to QC Vendor findings and ensures final findings and documentations are complete and accurate.
  • Provides interim QC reports to operations team for their responses. Ensures management responses are completed within deadlines, and are accurate and appropriate.
Performs various projects as needed.Qualifications & Benefits Information:
  • 5+ years of residential mortgage banking underwriting and / or loan origination auditing or examination experience.
  • Working knowledge of origination underwriting and quality control requirements for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD / FHA, VA and USDA including a proven ability to apply these requirements to business practices and systems.
  • Working knowledge of red flags for fraud, identity theft, money laundering, etc.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state compliance laws and regulations including a proven ability to apply these requirements to business practices and systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of mortgage business operations procedures for loan origination. Knowledge of mortgage servicing operations a plus.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, proactive, self-disciplined and team-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently to complete audits as per credit and compliance requirements and deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong personality capable of delivering adverse news and deadline requirements to peer and senior members of the organization.
Proficient in MS Office including Excel and Word.
