Job Summary

We're hiring a Mortgage Operations Specialist (Secondary Market Operations Specialist III) in Louisville, KY to be responsible for two or more of the following duties as the primary job function, or in a back-up role:
- Mortgage loan processing.
- Mortgage loan post-closing and file shipping.
- Generating mortgage regulatory disclosure documents.
- Generating mortgage loan closing documents.
- Quality control of mortgage loans.
Additionally, this position may also responsible for completing the Adverse Action disclosure on all denied, withdrawn or incomplete applications.
Other job responsibilities may include:
- Utilize the Mortgage Director system to its fullest potential by recommending system process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Prepare regulatory disclosures or mortgage closing documents in adherence to Forcht Bank polices and/or governmental regulatory requirements.
- Ensure mortgage loans are processed in accordance with Bank procedures and in a timely fashion. Work with 3rd parties to obtain required information.
- Perform quality control functions in either a pre-closing or post-closing function. Mail/ship mortgage documents to investors for document custody or loan sale. Follow for on-going trailing documents which must be sent to investors.
- Meet all loan level internal SLA’s and regulatory timing requirements with regards to documentation or disclosures.
- Stay current on all applicable regulatory mortgage-lending requirements published.
- Assist the Departmental Manager with adhering to the Forcht Bank Change Management Polices, BCP/DR Polices/ BCP Testing Polices and IT Security Polices.
- Provide customer support to Forcht bank internal and external clients in a professional manner and by responding quickly to phone calls, emails and instant messaging.
- As requested by the Departmental Manager, work with Internal Audit or Regulatory Agencies to meet requests for documentation in a timely fashion.
- Report any vendor incidence, potential cyber breach or concern to the Departmental Manager.

Qualifications

- Detailed knowledge of bank operations or mortgage loan activities.
- Be able to show proficiency with job requirements of at least two (2) primary job functions within the Department.
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office products and bank information systems, specifically Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and loan imaging systems.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in handling sensitive documents or other confidential information.
- An extreme attention to detail and ability to meet SLA’s.
- Ability to work with a team and members of other departments in a productive manner by meeting their requests and / answering their questions quickly.
- Must understand and view the entire department as a service organization, which must ensure the loan “product” being manufactured is done with an attention to detail and focus on customer service.
- Ability to communicate orally in order to convey information tactfully and effectively to all levels of employees and customers.
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying; taking time to understand points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar, including the ability to comprehend written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
- Ability to manage time and be efficient and effective in the completion of assignments.
- Ability to establish productive business interpersonal relationships with others inside and outside the organization and to work with little direct supervision in carrying out the responsibilities assigned.

- Basic knowledge of mathematics and accounting principles including but not limited to general ledger entries, problem resolution and error detection.
SCHEDULING & TRAVEL
- Ability to travel to other locations as needed.
- Must be able to work on a flexible schedule that at times may include early or late working hours or weekend hours
- Must be able to attend new hire training and orientation in Lexington, Kentucky Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for a one to two week period,
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position may carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with bank guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing and making hiring recommendations; employee coaching, training and appraising performance; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding performance or recommending disciplinary action as appropriate; and, addressing complaints and resolving problems that may arise. This position may provide directional oversight to the following positions:
- Secondary Market Operations Specialist I
- Secondary Market Operations Specialist II
