Position Title: Mortgage Loan Closer 2
Department: Mortgage Operations
Position Reports to: Loan Closing Supervisor/Fulfillment Center Manager
Position Supervises: No Direct Reports
Position Summary:
The Loan Closer are responsible for verifying data entry information required to create closing documents. Also prepares Mortgage closing packages maintaining compliance with investor, state and federal compliance. Responsible and accountable for the boarding of new Mortgage loans on the Bank’s Core system. This Banker is also responsible for monetary transactions that occur from the funding of new Mortgage loans. Demonstrate and implement our Trusted Advisor strategy to all internal and external customers
Duties and Responsibilities:
- General
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers of Premier Bank.
- Back up other positions within the loan operational area that do not conflict with bank policies or security rights of the system
- Funding
- Upload loans daily along with escrow setup if necessary
- Fund all mortgage loans daily
- Question and communicate new products between systems
- Closing
- Coordinates loan Closing with all parties and oversees disbursement of Funds
- Coordinates delivery of the CD to the borrower and communicates closing date.
- Customer facing responsibilities include communication to the stakeholders involved in the transaction
- Activates Mortgage insurance coverage and submission of the LPMI for payment, if applicable
- Review application input
- Update client information as needed
- Send closing instructions to title company
- Prepare closing packages for mortgage loans such as Purchase, Refinance and Construction deals
- Communicate closing conditions to the title companies as needed
- Review file upon receipt from title company for exception items
- Review Closing Disclosure from title company
- Maintain exception items in LOS
- Stack and scan loan files
- Review HMDA data for accuracy
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Education, Certification, License and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 2-4 years prior experience in loan processing and/or closing is preferred
Skills and Knowledge:
- Understanding of Bank’s policies, procedures and network
- Understanding of applicable regulations and laws
- Proficient in the use of the core system
- Proficient on product knowledge with strong emphasis on mortgage loans
- Proficient on the Doc Prep systems and Tracking System
- Knowledge of escrow setup
- Understanding of real estate title work as well as other loan documents included in closing packages
- Proficient on PC usage
- Proficient on the Bank’s mindframe
- Excellent communication skills
- Responsible for knowing and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as detailed in policies that include but are not limited to Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable anti-money-laundering rules, Right to Financial Privacy, Fair Lending, Community Reinvestment Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and other laws and regulations as they pertain to the position.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
