Job Description

Summary: The primary function of this position is to operate injection molding machines and their related process equipment in an effort to produce molded parts according to standard operating procedures that meet customer specifications.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

1.Participate in shift change meetings.

2.At the start of the shift, review work schedule, check molding machine, related process equipment and supplies (reels / interleaf) necessary for work to be done.

3.Load coils of stamped parts onto payoff, feed through the molding machine and remove coils of molded parts from the take-up upon completion.

4.Operate molding machines and related process equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures, work instructions, and specifications defined in the toolbook (i.e. in-process inspection & packaging specifications).

5.Responsible for identifying process problems or non-conforming product. Notify the appropriate personnel such as mold techs, shift / dept. leadperson, or dept. manager. Consult with Process Engineer and arrange for repair using the Tool Room Die Maintenance System (TRDMS).

6.Responsible for identifying changes and/or deviations to standard operating procedures, work instructions, setup sheets, in-process inspection requirements, packaging specifications, and notifying appropriate personnel such as mold techs, shift / dept. leadperson, or dept. manager in order to have them updated accordingly.

7.Confirm product quality by performing in-process quality checks using microscope, micro-vu, comparators and hand tools. Use QIMS as required.

8.Work independently or as part of a team to ensure production goals are met.

9.Follow Non-Conformance / Containment procedure as required.

10.Provide training to less experienced operators as required.

11.Confer with other operators, mold techs, shift / dept. leadperson, and/or other members of management to resolve production problems as required.

12.Use Label Verify (LV) to identify all products.

13.At the end of the shift, secure all equipment & machinery, and complete all required paperwork & data collection as required.

14.Maintain compliance to all departmental specific guidelines, instructions, & procedures.

15.Follow policies and procedures as defined in the Interplex Employee Manual.

16.Follow all International Standards that apply to IEP’s certification and QMS.

17.Follow Company Safety rules and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

18.Maintain regular and satisfactory attendance.

19.Perform duties outside of normal work hours as required.

20.Other duties as assigned.

Education /Skills /Qualifications:

1.Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

2.Must read, write and communicate in English as it relates to this position and safety.

3.Must successfully complete 90-day probationary period.

4.Must successfully complete required sections of the Andy Routsis Injection Molding Training

5.Should have 1 to 3 years manufacturing, machine operating experience

6.Cooperative with the ability to work individually or in a team environment.
