Boeing’s Space Launch System Core Stage & Exploration Upper Stage production based at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, LA is looking for a Mid-Level Test Technician to join their team. This role will be part of the In-Process Production that is testing and verifying our products to ensure the ultimate safety for human spaceflight. This effort includes a future expansion of the test team to KSC, Florida. The Production Test Team does significant amounts of testing on the propulsion and hydraulic systems ensuring the proper build of the rocket, so leak test experience is a plus. Opportunities exist to also assist in the functional testing of the flight avionics and instrumentation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans, conducts and documents tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies

  • Designs, fabricates, builds and analyzes test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies

  • Coordinates test requirements, determines test methods and capabilities

  • Conducts system test preparations by coordinating system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout and teardown

  • Conducts tests, analyzes data and documents results; participates in test readiness reviews

  • Troubleshoots and resolves laboratory and test-related problems

  • Coordinates test laboratory activities and maintenance and repairs

  • Coaches and trains others

  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience working in a lab test, factory test, or similar test environment

  • Willing and able to work in confined spaces

  • Ability to support frequent standing, walking, lifting, and working at heights with or without equipment assistance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with leak testing or operation of pneumatic panels

  • 5+ years of experience in space-based propulsion system testing

  • 5+ years of experience with Avionics and/or Electrical systems

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
