We anticipate the need for one or more Meter Reader (s) to join our team at our Hudson Service Center in Hudson, WI. The Starting Rate of this position is $25.04 hourly. This posting will be posted for 15 working days from February 9,2022 - March 1, 2022.

As a Meter Reader, you will accurately read and/or probe electric and/or gas meters and enter readings into a handheld processor for commercial and residential accounts. Identify and report possible meter tampering, unsafe conditions, and meters that are malfunctioning or damaged. Work on the disconnection and/or reconnection of gas and electric services, collections of delinquent accounts, check seals, and follow-up on self-reconnects. You will inform customers of right to file inability to pay protection during cold weather months and refer them to agencies for energy assistances. Hours worked will be during the normal business day and occasionally after hours or on weekends as needed.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Must have good communication and teamwork skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Must be able to read and follow maps
• Must be able to walk for extended periods of time through various terrain
• Must be committed to working safely and compliance with all company safety rules
• Must reside within 20-mile radius of the Hudson Service Center within 6 months of hire

Preferred

• Some electrical or natural gas background with experience in electric and/or gas metering
• Knowledge of road/street locations in service area
