Job Description
If you’ve ever visited a Goodwill Retail Store, you know firsthand how inviting it is. Clothing arranged by size, color; collectibles and other items grouped together, carefully priced. Merchandise Associates work behind-the-scenes to ensure this happens. How? They go through assigned donated merchandise, reviewing one-by-one, pricing and organizing.

Job Summary
The Merchandise Associate works under the direction of store management to maintain efficient store operations. Provides outstanding customer service while maintaining a clean, organized and safe work environment. Selects great quality merchandise from donations to stock the sales floor. The Merchandise Associate creates a positive employee and customer experience by consistently exhibiting citizenship behaviors and supporting Goodwill’s mission.
Work Location: Seabrook, New Hampshire
Hourly Wage: $12.00 + Benefits

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
1) Essential duties include the following:
- Sorts, inspects, and stocks donated goods
- Optimizes the value of donations
- Meets minimum Units Per Hour (UPH) and production effectiveness expectations
- Responsible for exercising due care in the performance of job tasks. Must follow Agency safety policies and procedures established within respective departments. SAFETY BEGINS WITH YOU!
2) Represents the Agency in all interactions with other members of the Goodwill community and with the general public, supporting the agency vision of creating sustainable communities that thrive through the fullest participation of their diverse residents.
3) Performs duties in accordance with Agency policies as well as all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
4) Detailed essential duties include:
- Works with supervisors to ensure individual production goals are met on a consistent basis.
- Maintains accurate record of daily production completed during designated production times.
- Ensures compliance to Agency standard trainings in his/her location.
- Pricing merchandise using best practices and stocking to sales floor plan
- Processes material at donation site by sorting donations made throughout the day
5) Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Ability to display a positive, friendly attitude in order to maintain a positive work environment
- Mathematical and literacy skills to support job duties
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Criminal background check that meets agency standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Light manufacturing, processing, warehouse work experience or certification
- Prior thrift or used goods processing experience
- High school diploma, GED, HiSET or equivalent
