This person is responsible for working with the Registered Nurse in the Adult Psych Unit to provide a safe and healthy treatment environment by providing direct patient care, observing patient behavior, collecting data, and providing group and individual interventions to assist the psychiatric patient towards recovery and rehabilitation.

You Will Be Responsible For:
- Exceptional Patient Care: Contributes to overall quality of care through creating a safe milieu and demonstrating therapeutic interactions. Provides individualized patient care in a safe and effective manner. Perform, report, and document vital signs, ADLs, patient observations and other patient care activities. Responds rapidly to emergency call lights and assists with phone calls utilizing approved telephone etiquette with no more than two valid complaints by patients or staff members. Performs safety checks according to departmental guidelines and always knows location and condition of patients under supervision.
- Excellent Communicator: Communicate effectively utilizing therapeutic communication with patient population. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with nursing staff, colleagues and physicians.
- Technical Familiarity: Computer-based applications (email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office).
- Active Teamwork: Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in the Human Services
- Certification: AHA CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers
- Must complete a pre-employment drug test under state law and be included in the random drug testing pool for the Fit for Duty Substance Abuse Testing Program and background checks
- Experience: Possesses a broad practical understanding of life experiences and the ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals.
- Prior experience preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks. Maintain confidentiality. Good problem-solving skills.
