The Greater Lakes Recovery Center (RC) is a 16 bed inpatient facility, which provides medically necessary involuntary and voluntary services to adults, regardless of ability to pay. The Recovery Center is located at 14016 South "A" St Parkland, WA 98444.

You will work side by side with well experienced/veteran nurses as well as Mental Health Professionals, Peer Counselor, Mental Health Technicians and ARNPs. We offer robust training and orientation to promote your success and career growth within Greater Lakes Recovery Center.
The RC operates 24 hours a day, seven days per week on a year-round basis to provided recovery oriented, trauma-informed treatment for individuals in our community through a highly intensive program which involves the individual, family and significant others in the treatment and discharge planning process.
Position Summary & Mission
The Mental Health Professional (MHP) collaborates with internal and external providers and staff to ensure effective coordination of services and supports related to stabilization and transition back into the community. Provides mental health services to clients at the Recovery Center, including initial intake, treatment planning, one-on-one counseling, facilitating groups, and coordinating discharge. Assists other Recovery Center staff with general milieu management throughout the shift as needed.
The MHP will also be responsible for performing assessments and evaluations to provide documentation and testimony for Superior Court mental health hearings
Requires a master’s degree in a mental health related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years clinical mental health experience. This is the minimum requirement for MHP status in WA State. Must have a minimum of two years' experience working with adults with acute mental illness, preferably with experience working in an inpatient psychiatric facility. Must have strong knowledge of major mental illnesses, including assessment of symptoms, mental status exam and treatments. Effective oral and written skills, empathy and interpersonal skills, good time management, computer and keyboarding skills.
Our friendly and professional multidisciplinary team members partner with clients, their families, and significant others in setting goals to achieve stabilization and obtaining, maintaining, and using appropriate mental health and community resource upon transition to the community from the Recovery Center. Together we focus on helping clients attain their goals, providing hope and motivation, as clients heal and develop resiliency. The MHP may provide counseling to help clients re-establish self-identity, sense of purpose and meaning in their lives, which will include developing plans for a successful transition to the community and making community connections for continued support.

Responsibilities
- Will provide assessment, documentation and testimony for superior court mental health hearings
- Completes initial clinical assessments and intakes
- Develops treatment and discharge plans
- Helps ensure effective coordination and delivery of all mental health services
- Advocates for patient needs
- Provides one-on-one counseling and community resource information
- Coordinates discharge plans with families, community supports, and other community providers
- Works with internal and external providers and staff to ensure effective care
- Assists other staff throughout the shift as needed
- Manages all required paperwork and records and prepares documentation (forms, reports, etc.) when needed
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies
Qualifications
- Qualified as a Mental Health Professional with a Master’s degree in a mental health related field and two years clinical mental health experience supervised by an MHP
- Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of major mental illnesses, including assessment, symptoms, and treatments
- Able to assess and respond responsibly to mental health crisis situations
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Experience working with adults with acute mental illness in an inpatient psychiatric facility preferred
