Mental Health Practitioner

Overview

Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) is a program that assists individuals who have mental health issues by providing services to help them function independently in their homes or place of residence; utilizing a variety of treatment techniques designed to support the individual in reaching their predefined treatment goals.

*New employee starting bonuses to be paid after 90 days of employment:

• Full-time positions: $250.00

Base Starting Pay:

• $18.50/hr

Responsibilities

• Supports the Mission, Vision, and Guiding Principles of NHS-Northstar
• Providing support services to an assigned caseload in an effective, consistent, and dependable manner
• Oversee and assure quality care to the individuals we serve
• Relate and react to each client, significant others, providers and employee as individuals with unique needs, abilities, and personalities
• Ability to be available and flexible in scheduling during times of need
• Meet personally and individually with clients in their homes and/or community locations
• Provide mental health rehabilitation services to clients suffering from mental illness; utilize a variety of treatment techniques designed to support clients in reaching their pre-defined treatment goals
• Travel independently to meet with clients and/or transport clients to appointments across our service area
• Monitor clients for indications of psychiatric problems
• Use technology to maintain appropriate records; document interactions with clients to ensure proper billing
• Maintain a billable time threshold as directed by the Treatment Director
• Maintain a professional demeanor by observing standards of conduct and integrity in the workplace, by working cooperatively with team members and fulfilling training requirements, thereby ensuring a respectful workplace, effective teamwork, and qualified employees

Qualifications

Experience/Education/Training

• Bachelors Degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university and 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness
• OR High School Diploma and at least 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness
• OR Masters or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related disciplines and has less than 4,000 hours of post-master's experience in the treatment of mental illness

Regulatory Requirements/Licensure

• Valid Minnesota Driver’s License
• DHS Background Study
