WORK SCHEDULE: Full time 40+ Hours per week; Hours vary based on need.
SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
REPORTS TO: STRTP Mental Health Program Director
SUPERVISES: Facility Mental Health Program staff
A licensed mental health professional who has been designated by a short-term residential therapeutic center licensee to oversee and implement the overall mental health treatment program in accordance with the provisions of the short term residential therapeutic program Mental Health Program protocol for up to 6 STRTP clients.
MINIMUM AND/OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE A minimum of three (3) years’ experience with behavioral health care and knowledge of Community Care Licensing requirements, Continuum of Care Reform (CCR), and service delivery models are required. Applicant must possess a M.A. (PhD or PsyD preferred) in Clinical Psychology or Behavioral Sciences. Must have excellent people skills. Salary is contingent on experience and education level.
SAMPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND/OR DUTIES
1. Maintain a safe, healthy, and therapeutic environment at the STRTP.
2. Ensure and maintain all the appropriate documentation of the program approval to the licensing agency and shall ensure the Specialty Mental Health Services the facility is certified and contracted to provide are implemented.
3. Ensure that each client has a Mental Health Assessment.
4. Complete an Admission Statement within 5 days of a client’s admission.
5. Maintain the Mental Health Program approval in good standing during its licensure.
6. Ensure the Treatment Plan of each client reflects any mental health needs identified in the case plan, Treatment Plan, or any available Mental Health Assessment.
7. Ensure collaboration with Child and Family Teams is consistent with the Treatment Plan and the Needs and Services Plan of each client.
8. Ensure continuity of care, services, and treatment as a client moves from his or her STRTP placement to a home-based family care or to a permanent living situation through reunification, adoption, or guardianship, in accordance with the client's Needs and Services Plan or Treatment Plan.
9. Ensure each client’s ability to access mental health services identified in their Needs and Services Plan is made known to them or efforts are made by the STRTP to ensure access to identified mental health services, including utilization of any existing grievance processes for accessing services.
10. Ensure clients in placement diagnosed by a physician, psychologist, or licensed clinical social worker as mentally disordered shall have a consultation at least every ninety (90) days by the QFS contract psychiatrist.
11. Ensure that each STRTP client has commonality of needs with the other clients in the STRTP, including whether the client’s presence is adverse to the safety or mental health needs of the client or other clients in the STRTP.
12. Ensure the mental health services identified on each Treatment Plan are provided and appropriate to meet the individual needs of the client.
13. Monitor the quality of the mental health services provided to the clients.
14. Make arrangements, including transportation, for clients to receive mental health services that cannot be provided by the STRTP.
15. Arrangements for special provision of mental health services to children with disabilities including visual and auditory impairment.
16. Ensure that documentation and recordkeeping requirements are met.
17. Develop mental health staff schedules, training schedules, mental health treatment service schedules, medication schedules, and any other schedules for the operation of their STRTP Mental Health Program(s).
18. Review, approve, and/or maintain all QFS Social Work staff assessments, evaluations, Progress Notes, and reports of clients in placement.
19. Review and maintain third party consultation reports; including types and hours of services provided.
20. Assist the agency in their communication and compliance of CARF and State standards to all Personnel at all levels of employment in all programs in Fresno and Sacramento.
21. Coordinate mental health services, including training, schedule, peer supervision, reports, evaluations, etc.
22. Maintain testing materials and Medical Review Team workbooks for the group.
23. Monitor, implement and maintain CARF and State standards and regulations pertaining to behavioral and mental health services.
24. Other duties as assigned In the absence of the Mental Health Head of Service, a Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist is the designated substitute.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
