Quantum Pain and Orthopedic is looking for a full-time, bilingual Medical Scheduler to join our team in San Antonio, TX! The ideal candidate will be responsible for checking-out patients and understanding patient's needs to successfully organize and schedule procedures accordingly and promptly.This candidate will have responsibilities and duties that include scheduling procedures face to face with the patient and via phone, informing and educating patients regarding procedures, communicating with necessary providers regarding patients' status, data entry, and other duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicates with all appropriate parties regarding patient and procedure
- Follows-up and ensures all documentation is obtained
- Verifies if all authorizations have been obtained prior to scheduling procedures
- Schedules and/or reschedules patient follow-ups and procedures
- Coordinates transportation for our procedure patients, if needed
- Inform and provide the patient with the necessary information and instructions prior to the procedure date
- Follows-up on all Canceled or No Show Patients
- Check-out patients
- Sends prescriptions to the pharmacy via fax or e-mail
- Move patients through appointments as scheduled
- Answer telephone and deal with inquiries
- Update patients' information into the EMR database
- Updates daily log for all patients' office visits
- Updates daily log of all patients who have confirmed procedures
- Submits information to the verification department for pre-authorization
- Ensures completeness and accuracy of patients' forms
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, outlook, & eCW
- Has a good understanding of medical terminology, good communication skills and is detail-oriented
- Spine Pain Management/Orthopedic background knowledge experience is preferred
- Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
- Must be bilingual (Spanish)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have 1 year of experience in a medical office setting
- Must be bilingual and fluent in Spanish
- Pain management or orthopedic is highly preferred
- Must have reliable transportation for traveling
