We are seeking a professional full-time Medical Records Specialist for our physician office located in Grayhawk (N. Scottsdale). The Medical Records Specialist is responsible for the resolution of medical records imported into the Electronic Medical Record. The hours are Monday - Friday and will vary from 7:30AM- 5:30PM.
Primary Responsibilities
Compose and prepare documentation for EMR- Collection of daily hospital lists of patients from each location
- Research of patient information in the hospital portal systems
- Retrieval of the information from the hospital portal verifying correct dates of service and patient information
- Retrieval of patients demographic information from the hospital portal systems
- Data entry of the patient's demographics if the patient is a non-established patient in the office PM system
- Once information is entered, verification of insurance thru the office PM system
- Scanning of appropriate documents into the patient's chart, i.e, hospital face sheet, operative reports, consultation reports, progress reports, lab results
- Review of lab manifest- labs, cytologies, pathologies
- Communication with Physicians
- Review/resolve/research missing documentation
- Gathering signatures for home health billing
- Pre-registration of patients for outreach clinics- loading as much patient demographic information into Phressia as possible before office appointments
- Traveling between offices to gather data
Education/Experience:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED required- Minimum of three (3) years medical office experience
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
