We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Medical Receptionist to join the Mountainside Medical Group Team
What You’ll Do
The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for providing superior level of secretarial duties and reception services to the physicians, patients, and staff.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Enter, maintain, report all medical history, medical coding, and claims filing using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Promptly investigate all outpatient denials pertaining to diagnosis and procedure coding
- Update all patient files and make sure documents are accurate, confidential, and compliant
- Greet, check in and check out patients, and advise other medical staff of arrival of patient’s
- In coordination with the Medical Receptionist Supervisor, assist in maintaining inventory of necessary supplies, and assist with maintaining inventory on all instruments
- Address and request referrals and other insurance authorizations, as well as pass along patient information for prescription, x-ray or lab requisitions to necessary parties
- Schedule/reschedule appointments, follow up with no calls, no shows, the discharge of patients, and follow up appointments
- Answer inbound calls to the practice, as well as, greet vendors and set vendor appointments by conveying messages in writing, electronically, and verbally
- Maintain physicians’ calendars, prepares doctors notes including, return to work, school, or leave notices, and all other correspondence as directed
- Ensure the waiting and reception areas are kept orderly and clean, and will report on any damages of furniture, supplies, or equipment
- Act as a liaison with patients, referrals, general practitioners, health care professionals, and patient’s family member in a compassionate and kind manner
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- High School Diploma, or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience in a hospital or physician practice setting
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage patients, peers, and supervisors in a dedicated, comforting, respectful and effective way
- Ability to adapt to change
