Position Summary:
Wide range of secretarial and office support duties. Works with minimal supervision. Requires basic grammar, spelling and punctuation. Ability to type and transcribe dictation, manuscripts, routine office correspondence and medical reports with speed and accuracy. Scheduling of patients for appointments, surgical procedures, preoperative and postoperative appointments, capable of screening inquires with tack, courtesy and good judgment. Maintain appointment schedule both clinical and administrative.
Education:
Work requires a high school level of educational development and up to one year of basic technical training in secretarial/office management.
Required Work Experience:
One year of previous experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Work requires the analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations in which the information or problems are relatively routine.
Work requires the ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain medical center policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or medical center employees.
