Job Description

Summary: AFC Urgent Care is looking for part and full time MAs to staff our brand new, state of the art urgent care centers in Beverly and Swampscott, MA. Our ideal candidate has all the qualifications listed below, but that's only part of it. The most important part: you treat our patients with the respect, love and care that you'd treat a member of your own family.

Everyone walking through our doors is there because they're sick and need help. We're here to send them home with a smile. If we can't do that, we've failed. Successful candidates for this position will never need to be told this twice.

Candidates with medical backgrounds or experience will be given strong preference.

Timing:

Flexible shifts- 8 am to 8 am pm, as well as 8 am- 4 pm. Weekend coverage required.

Objective:

  • Greet and register patients
  • Handle front office administrative tasks
  • Assist providers in back office patient care

Reports to: Center Administrator / Physician on Duty / Nurse Manager

Responsibilities and Duties

Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)

Your most important tasks will be

  • Registration of patients- greeting them at front desk, ensuring consistent and pleasant first impression.
  • Assisting in call backs, prior authorizations, booking of appointments, insurance verification.
  • Assist in patient care, predominantly triage

In general, other tasks include:

  • Ensure patient flow is speedy and organized
  • Inventory supplies, replenish supplies when received
  • Assist in maintaining equipment
  • Ensure cleanliness of patient waiting area and front office area

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting
  • Medical Office Assistant/ Medical Assistant Diploma Strong Preferred
  • Associates Degree/Certification preferred or cumulative experience
  • Professional appearance
  • Warm, friendly attitude with excellent patient interaction skills
  • Team player, excellent verbal and communication skills, adaptable in different situations, possesses excellent client interaction skills, able to multi-task and work independently

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
