Job Description
Overview: Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full Time Medical Laboratory Scientist III for testing in the laboratory and report results according to SOP. The shift is 3pm to 11pm.Responsibilities: 1. Perform testing in the laboratory and report results according to SOP.
2. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment.
3. Perform quality control tasks and maintain laboratory documentation according to SOP.
4. Maintain and manage laboratory inventory.
5. Provide laboratory information to others on the patient care team.
6. Maintain competencies and continuing education.
7. Create and maintain technical procedures, documents and forms.
8. Work with team and vendors to troubleshoot equipment issues
9. Oversee the department schedule and bench assignments.
10. Oversee staff competency.
11. Assist supervisor in onboarding new staff and ensures completion of training checklists.
12. Assist supervisor with assigning and submitting proficiency testing surveys.
13. Assist supervisor with CAP self, routine, and non-routine inspections.Qualifications:Education:1. Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution. Foreign graduates require equivalency evaluation documentation.
2. ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.Requirements:Previous MLS Experience preferred
