MEDICAL ASSISTANT - INSTRUCTOR - PART-TIME
Job Summary
Medical Assistant Instructors use their training and practical experience from clinical and/or administrative duties to teach Ross Medical Assistant students what they need to succeed in the medical field.
What are the main activities of this job?Primary Instructors teach in the Medical Assisting classroom a maximum of 24 students, covering either clinical skills or administrative skills (some teachers do both!). Class sessions are 4.5 hours, week days only. Training and support provided in delivering standardized curriculum.
This is a part-time position, typically 9-22.5 hours per week, day and evening schedules may be available.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Classroom Instruction, Outside of Class Preparation, Meetings and Continuing Education
Transferable skills: Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, Medical Receptionist, Medical Office Assistant, Medical Office Manager, out-patient, clinical, administrative, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant
Work Environment: Clean and bright classrooms with computer/desk and clinical areas, including “doctor’s office”. Interact with other instructors and campus staff to assist students.

Requirements
3+ years’ experience in the medical field and formal training from an accredited institution. Must be able to obtain a national certification as medical assistant. Individuals without a formal education, must have with a minimum of 5+ years experience working in the medical field and a national certification. Additional requirements or exceptions may be applicable based on the state, program, and accreditation requirements. No prior teaching experience required.
