Job Description: Medical Assistant/Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for excellent customer service, compassionate care and constant professionalism while working with a densely elderly patient base. Direct contact with patients, performing preliminary testing and exam elements in preparation for the exam with the provider. Position directly supports the provider to ensure an efficient clinic day.
Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted role.

- Prior customer service experience preferred.

Job tasks:
- Use diagnostic testing equipment to obtain imaging and scans
- Collect a thorough medical and ocular history
- Measure visual acuity
- Perform Refractometry
- Measure side vision function
- Measure eye muscle function
- Measure eye pressure
- Dilation of pupils
- Assist provider with procedures, testing or exam
- Answer patient questions related to medications and care
- Contact pharmacy or insurance company for medication refills and questions
- Maintain cleanliness of all testing, exam and procedure rooms
- Sterilize surgical instruments
- Complete patient forms
- Assist co-workers to ensure an efficient clinic flow
- Maintain a TEAM mindset in all tasks
- Keep charts documented appropriately.
- Review and respond to interoffice messages and patient calls within 24 business hours.
- Maintain position quality and productivity standards in daily performance.
- Attend any training and or system development as arranged by management.
- Complete online review and training courses as assigned by management.
- Complete additional work as requested by management.
- Assist in achieving and maintaining on time, every time flow.
- See management for additional work duties when primary work function is exhausted.
- Ensure patient satisfaction is top priority in all job duties performed.
- Maintain a positive behavior toward LEC processes, policies and all staff.
