WorkFit Medical, LLC is looking for a Medical Assistant/Patient Services Representative for our Albany, NY location. We have a busy occupational health and urgent care clinic and are seeking the right people to join our team! Must be customer focused, enjoy a busy pace, and able to multi task.
This position is a combination of a Medical Assistant (MA) and Front desk Patient Services Representative. We are looking for dedicated individuals to providing quality, customer centered care to the clients and patients of a busy facility. We will provide training for the right people! Apply today! Job Requirements for Medical Assistant:
- Obtain patient vital signs.
- Conduct patient blood draws.
- Perform patient audio-grams.
- Perform Mask Fit testing.
- Perform Pulmonary Function tests.
- Prepare exam rooms for patients.
- Stock exam rooms with medical supplies.
- High energy for fast-paced business
- Professional and friendly demeanor
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience in a medical facility preferred
- Familiarity with performing basic audio-grams and vision tests
- Able to perform EKG testing (training will be provided if needed)
- Skilled in phlebotomy ie. / Blood draws
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service
- Must be an energetic and self-motivated
- Professional phone etiquette
- Strong professional customer service, verbal and written communication skills
- Punctual and dependable
- Ability to work independently and as a clinical team member
- Other basic duties such as answering telephones, filing, faxing, emailing and working with vendors
Responsibilities of Patient Services Representative:
- Help Check patients in and out.
- Manage patient logs and case information.
- Maintain organized and up to date patient files, within HIPAA compliance.
- Schedule patient visits and follow-ups.
- Assure paperwork is filled out correctly for all patients.
- Perform, collect and document urine drug screens and breathe alcohol tests.
- Professionally handle patient paperwork and communication with Hospitals and clients.
- Ensure that check-out desk is manned at all times (which includes QA of charts as each patient checks out)
- Help to answer phones and direct callers or answer questions as needed.
- Communicate with direct supervisor to address errors and training issues as well as work-flow suggestions or other observations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience with various computer programs is a plus.
- Medical Terminology
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with client and employees.
- Work well in a team environment and be able to work without supervision if necessary.
- High level of commitment
- Excellent organizational skills
- Self-motivated and have a professional attitude and appearance
- Experience working with different types of personalities
- Have a positive "can do" attitude
- Good verbal and written communication within the company as well as with contacts outside the company
Education, Experience and Certification:
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Certification training program highly preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in direct patient care and experience working in an office environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word)
