Work schedule: Occasional days and hours as needed between the hours of 6:30A-9:30A Monday - Friday.Responsibilities:
  • Ensure medications and supplies are properly stored and within use-by dates with oversight from Nurse Practitioner
  • Inspect and accept shipments of medications and supplies with oversight from Nurse Practitioner
  • Perform regulatory testing as needed (random non-DOT drug screening and alcohol testing, audiometric, fit testing, pulmonary function testing, spirometry etc.)
  • Administer immunizations as needed by the direction of the Nurse Practitioner
  • Ordering and maintain medical & office supplies
  • Register personnel visiting the facility prior to meeting with the doctor for consultation
  • Prepare required files and give them to the Nurse Practitioner who will assist the doctor
  • Manage and control and completion and filing of medical records
  • Prepare correspondence and reports
  • Maintain training records
  • Maintain the files in an organized and confidential manner
  • Maintaining confidentiality by following HIPAA requirements
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 2 years of medical assistant experience
  • Experience working in Occupational Health preferred
  • Knowledge and skills equivalent to those acquired through an accredited Medical Assistant education program, including basic knowledge of medical terminology and reporting, to perform office and clinical duties.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • Must have current BLS/CPR
  • Certification to or ability and willingness to become certified to perform supportive medical services (e.g., administer medication, audiogram, spirometry, respirator fit testing, pulmonary function testing, drug screen collections, etc.)
  • Consistent excellent patient relations skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality of information concerning patients
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; effective interaction with a wide variety of personnel who hold varying roles and have varying responsibilities
  • Proficiency with computers using the Microsoft Office suite of applications for creation as well as modification, how to access and use the Internet and an e-mail program such as Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, but will not hesitate to ask questions of and/or seek information from the supervisor and other team members so that tasks can be completed correctly
  • Strong self-motivation; proactive, high-energy, enthusiastic, "can do" work ethic; and ability to handle potentially stressful situations and tolerance for ambiguity
  • Ability to maintain punctuality and good attendance
