Job Description

Medical Assistant
We are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant supervisor with both administrative and clinical skills who will supervise and train other medical assistants who values exceptional patient care, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and works effectively on a team. Candidates must have good communication skills in English and Spanish. Candidates must be articulate, have a positive attitude and a cheerful disposition.

Responsibilities
Train and supervise other medical assistants.

Works closely with the physicians and office manager.

Responsible for answering incoming calls, greeting, and checking in patients for office appointments and in-office procedures.

Enters all pertinent patient information into the electronic health record system.

Preparing patients for examinations including vital signs, injections, and phlebotomy.

Update medical history including pharmacy and medications.

Obtaining patient information and verifying insurance information.

Obtaining necessary patient information for electronic medical records.

Schedules necessary appointments and procedures for all patients.

Assisting the physician during examinations.

Explaining medical procedures to patients including obtaining appropriate consent forms.

E-prescribing and/or calling in prescriptions to pharmacies.

Collect and process laboratory specimens.

Sterilize medical instruments.

Updating patient files and make appropriate patient notifications, i.e. lab results, etc.

Scheduling medical tests, radiographic procedures, including prior authorizations.

Preparing and stocking exam rooms.

Maintain stock and assist in ordering of medical supplies as necessary.

Assist in ordering, receiving, and stocking of office supplies.

Identifying and resolving minor complaints.

Assists in other duties as assigned

Qualifications
3+ years relevant experience as a Medical Assistant.

Strong verbal, oral and written communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

Bilingual - English and Spanish.

Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.

Education
High School diploma

Graduated from an accredited technical school

Associates Degree (Preferred)

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
