Medical Assistant

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting providers and other members of the health care team in providing high quality patient care.

MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Various medical and diagnostic equipment and tools.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant program.

EXPERIENCE: One (1) consecutive year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant preferred

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: Current documentation of a national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or for the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT). Must also have current CPR certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent walking and standing, lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (May be further defined as "with or without assistance.")

WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to infectious agents.
