Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Medical Assistant Guide + to join our Virtual Operations team. Candidates must work in person 2 days a week in our NYC office.

As we grow out our Virtual offering, we're looking for Medical Assistants to assist a Care Team in managing a panel of patients with a 'virtual first' mindset. You'll be working with a Care Team of MDs and Advanced Practice Providers to provide collaborative care.
In this role, you'll solve problems that truly change lives. You'll demonstrate organizational agility, coordinate cross functionally to get answers, and put patients first.
This is a full time position requiring 40 hours a week. Working hours will be between 7am - 8pm EST.
Responsibilities
Support visits in person approximately two days a week, which may include: checking patients in, phlebotomy and point of care testing, administering vaccines (depending on state), managing inventory, complete MA-level visits, performing EKGs, assisting/chaperoning procedures, as needed and other ad hoc tasks from the Medical Director or Advanced Practitioners and operations counterparts.
Provide live video virtual check in and check out support for patients
Provide live phone and messaging support for patients.
Provide support for your Care Team, including virtual MDs, Advanced Practitioners and Registered Nurses.
Be proactive in planning for each patient's medical needs from initial outreach to solution
Build trust and relationships with patients by setting clear expectations and following up with action
Assist with the order process, including entering labs into EHR, sending requisition forms, coordinating referrals, and disseminating order information and results to providers
Close the loop with providers after referrals are made, including collecting patient notes from providers
Schedule appointments with patients for follow up care
Call providers and facilities to clarify information and help solve complex cases
Initiate and participate in case debriefings with medical assistants and providers.
Coordinate with internal departments to facilitate patient care
Coordinate with external providers and facilities to ensure patient needs are met (Laboratories, Imaging Facilities, Pharmacies, Vendors)
Be an active participant with camera on, during team meetings, huddles and rounds
Empower our patients to be proactive in their own healthcare
Perform all other tasks or additional responsibilities as necessary
Requirements
- Up to date Medical Assistant certification or similar experience and/or education
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Internet speeds must be above 25Mpbs at home
- Must be able to comply with all Oscar Medical Group work from home policies
Preferred Experience
- Customer service skills and experience.
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Phlebotomy experience
- Experience doing blood draws and vaccines
- Experience with startup culture
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and patient management software
