Work Hours/Shift:Full Time Days You Will Be Responsible For:

• Assist with screenings per physician orders and enters all information accurately and at the time of service or results
• Performs clinical intake according to AHMG policy and procedures
• May be responsible for assisting with minor procedures associated with specialty
• May be required to travel as needed to fulfill staffing needs

Qualifications
What You Will Need:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program
• Must be currently certified and maintain certification by ONE of the following:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (“AAMA”) for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (“AMCA”) for Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)
• American Medical Technologists (“AMT”) for Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• National Association for Health Professionals (“NAHP”) for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (“NCCT”) for National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (NHA) for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)

• Current, valid CPR certification is required
• Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology
• Knowledge of chronic disease management
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize internal and external resources
• Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems
• Ability to function and assist others in stressful, fast-paced environments and effectively apply stress management techniques
• Ability to resolve issues and work independently within the scope of their certification
• Ability to exercise sound judgement, diplomacy and a professional demeanor
• Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements
• Experience with computers required

Job Summary:The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider. Performs office duties as needed; which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays and scheduling necessary appointments. .
