Expectations:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing compassionate, knowledgeable care within scope to HHP patients, in keeping with the HHP Standards of Conduct and Behavior Standards of HHP Employees. Duties include reviewing and updating patient charts prior to visits; completing patient data intake, including vitals and updating information in the EHR with the patient at the start of the visit; cleaning and stocking the treatment rooms between patient visits; preparing physicians in advance for patient visits both verbally and via updates in the EHR; and processing patient portal messages in a timely manner for assigned physicians. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; must have diploma from Medical Assistant Program to demonstrate completion of Medical Assistant training. Experience/Training: 2+ years previous experience in an outpatient, ambulatory clinic setting; previous EHR experience required. Licenses/Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS provider required. Skills: Must be able to administer vaccinations, take blood pressure, properly weigh patients, take temperature, and anticipate the patients' and physicians' needs to ensure the best overall patient experience. The Medical Assistant must possess strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; problem solving and decision-making skills in order to interact with patients, physicians, office staff and managers. Intermediate knowledge of computer systems, including EHR and general principles of medical record documentation is required.
