Job Description

The Media Planner is responsible for managing a portfolio of B2B and Healthcare clients. The role involves working with clients and internal teams to establish objectives as well as target audiences, and then determining the best media mix to reach that audience at the appropriate frequency and at the most efficient cost. Responsible for a wide-range of media related activities including requesting proposals, negotiating rates, presenting media plans, placing buys, confirming placements run as scheduled, reporting and ensuring accurate billing.

This role is contract to hire.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage assigned portfolio of accounts understanding each individual client’s goal and objective to create custom, tailored, cross channel media plans.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors at the best possible terms, stay up to date with new vendors as well as changes in the media landscape.
  • Maintain an excellent relationship with clients, vendors and internal departments.
  • Manage the implementation of all approved media plans and projects, including issuing insertion orders, campaign set up, creative delivery, and ongoing management.
  • Work with media coordinators and data & insights team on client reporting. Ensure accuracy of media buy details, analyzing campaign performance and writing of actionable insights across accounts and channels (i.e. display, native, SEM, social, site direct, print, OOH, etc.). Present campaign results to client during reporting calls.
  • Share campaign results and learning across campaigns for current and future campaigns. Ensure learnings are socialized within the team and develop documentation as needed.
  • Adopts current processes and procedures within the team and agency. Looks for areas to improve current processes or develop new processes to improve operational efficiencies both within the team and across departments.
  • Help train consulting and engagement team members and mentor members of the team on the proper methods of preparing, implementing and evaluating media plans.
  • Responsible for budgeting, billing and invoicing for assigned portfolio of accounts.
  • Participate in new business as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with consistent follow-through; proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and timely turn-around responses to clients.
  • Strong communication (oral and written) skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and project management skills.
  • Experience managing across multiple clients and client contacts.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Solid understanding of cross channel media and multichannel experience (SEM, social, programmatic, traditional)
  • Experience with Google, Bing, Facebook, LinkedIn, DCM and/or DSPs as well as Google Analytics
  • Proficient in MS Excel

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Communications.
  • 3-4 years of experience in media planning, strategy and buying with at least 2 years digital experience.
