Position Summary:
As a Building Inspector you will be responsible for performing structural building inspection duties as well as inspect commercial and residential buildings, which are under construction or being repaired, remodeled, or enlarged and ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes and ordinances. If you’re reliable, have a good work ethic, and can cooperate with co-workers and clients respectfully, this is the position for you.
Job Responsibilities:
Your day as a Building Inspector at UES will be both challenging and rewarding. During which, you have the opportunity to create lasting relationships with your team members. On a typical day, you can be expected to:
- Determine whether changes may be required in plans and makes recommendations to contractors, engineers, architects, etc
- Performs inspections of foundations, concrete slabs, framing, roofing, and related construction work
- Maintains accurate, complete, and current inspection records
- Exercises tact and courtesy when conducting inspections and dealing with clients
- Prepares reports and reports data in a timely, complete, and understandable fashion
- Promotes continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects, monitors quality standards and practices
- Ensures that project requirements are met and compliant with inspections specifications, requirements and policies
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's license with acceptable driving record
- State of Florida Building Inspector License
- Mechanical Inspector/Plans Examiner
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electrical Inspector/Plans Examiner
- Plumbing Inspector/Plans Examiner
- Family Dwelling 1 & 2
- Standard Plans Examiner
- Building Code Administrator
