Job Title: Mechanical Drafter

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Schedule: Monday thru Thursday 7:00 am – 5:00 pm with one hour lunch,

Friday 7:00 am – 12:00 pm

Summary

Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Makes sketches of proposed drawing. Checks dimensions of parts, using micrometers, calipers, scales and other precision measuring tools, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.

Basic knowledge of material types and availability.

Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.

Makes any adjustments or changes to drawings as needed.

Basic knowledge of ANSI standards and AWS weld symbols.

Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment, AutoCAD and Solidworks design software.

Assists with Project Management as needed.

Travel to job site occasionally to make sketches or verify dimensions.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A.A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
