A Mechanical CAD Designer / Detailer reports to the VDC Manager and is responsible for the preparation of CAD drawings to be used for installations, fabrication and project closeouts. A Mechanical CAD Designer / Detailer is also responsible for coordinating with partition plans, reflected ceiling plans and other trades to minimize jobsite conflicts.
Initiative, decisiveness, tact, integrity, judgment, and technical knowledge are essential to achieving departmental and corporate goals. Job related contact can occur virtually with all demographic groups, with most daily contacts being with MAXAIR employees and departmental customers.
Essential Functions:
- Work with project managers or project superintendents and foremen to develop shop drawings for HVAC & Plumbing installations.
- Coordinate installation with other trades.
- Support workflow of foreman and project managers.
- Work from schematic sketches to produce plan drawings.
- Organize and file project drawings.
- Maintain company drawings and standards.
- Interact with clients in on-line coordination meetings and on-site with Project Managers.
- Represent MAXAIR from a coordination standpoint in all internal and external meetings.
- Assist the CAD Manager with the coordination of projects.
Competencies:
- Basic computer proficiency.
- AUTOCAD proficiency.
- REVIT proficiency.
- BIM coordination experience is a plus.
- 5 years minimum experience with commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.
- 5 years minimum experience with commercial plumbing systems.
- Field installations and fabrication experience a plus.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines.
- Checks own work and maintains high level of detail.
This position is located at our Marietta, GA office and is not a remote position. Hours are typically M-F, 8-5 pm. Travel, if any, is in the local metro Atlanta area.
