Mechanical AutoCad Drafter 1

Job Description

The preferred Candidate should have 1-3 years practical experience and be a highly motivated, self-starter who responds well to coaching and supervision, and should be an active team player that is reliable and accountable in every aspect of their job.

• Create detailed drawings using AutoCad that are utilized in the manufacturing of products and the construction of sawmills
• Meeting with Owner and Mechanical Engineers to discuss design ideas
• Develop product designs from scratch (with help of Owner or Production Manager)
• Provide 2D models for sales/construction purposes
• Provide 2D or Inventor models for equipment used in production
• Ensuring designs meet required safety and structural standards
• Working with production employees when they have design questions
• Checking on equipment during the production process and making changes on drawings if needed
• Willingness to travel to sawmills to measure for new project drawings (approximately 6 days a year)

Skills Needed:

• Previous work experience as an AutoCad drafter
• 1-3 years of drafting experience
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCad software
• Knowledge of state safety and structural design regulations
• Technical design skills preferred
• Good communication skills
• A keen eye for aesthetics and detail
• Ability to self-motivate and keep up with deadlines
